The ET Pharma Future-Ready Supply Chain Summit 2026 brought together leaders from across the pharmaceutical industry to consider how supply chains can support the sector’s growth, resilience and evolving operational needs.
For SCY, the summit was an opportunity to connect with the pharma community, exchange perspectives and share how supply chain planning can help teams make better-informed decisions.
The questions shaping pharma supply chains
A clear theme ran through discussions on technology, affordability and resilience: as India’s pharma industry grows, its supply chains are becoming more complex and international. Planning systems and processes need to keep pace.
Several ideas stood out:
- AI can support decisions, but context matters. Predictive systems can surface risks and opportunities. Teams still need to decide where human judgment and oversight are essential.
- Affordability starts upstream. Cost, service and patient access are shaped by decisions made well before a medicine reaches distribution.
- Resilience begins with understanding dependencies. Knowing which inputs and capabilities are critical helps organisations assess risks and prepare for disruption.
- Planning needs a connected view. Decisions across production, inventory and logistics affect one another. Seeing those impacts together can help teams assess their options before committing to a course of action.
Making trade-offs clearer
At SCY, we help pharma teams model supply chain plans across planning, production, inventory and logistics. This gives teams a clearer view of the cost, service and operational impact of different options while decisions are still open.
The summit conversations continue to inform how we think about the challenges facing pharma supply chains, and the role better planning can play in addressing them.
Thank you to everyone who met with the SCY team and shared their perspectives at the summit.
